On April the 15th EU governments have started trade negotiations with the USA. They take place in opposition to the position of the European Parliament which would make the Climate Convention of Paris a precondition for trade talks. Concessions that have already been made are a tripeling of climate-damaging fracking gas imports and a doubeling of soya imports for agrofuels. The trade negotiations start by pressure from the United States to impose punitive tariffs on European cars and planes. That will make fair negotiations impossible. The US want a trade deal on agriculture, genetic engineering, chemistry and pesticides.
